The Iraqi government is moving towards developing the industrial and commercial sectors by establishing advanced industrial cities, the latest of which was the government’s announcement of its intention to contract with a Chinese investment company to establish an advanced industrial city in Basra Governorate.

These orientations of the Iraqi government call for optimism for a better tomorrow, but the selection of reliable investment companies is important to raise the industrial and commercial reality of Iraq to the ranks of developed countries.

Therefore, NIHR calls on the relevant government agencies to put competence, experience, reliability, as well as human rights record as a criterion for contracting with these companies to achieve the desired goals of their work.
