           In efforts of combating violent extremism and raising awareness of youth mental health, the National Institute for Human Rights with the support of IOM held a consultation session within the project “Empowering Youth to Resilience: A Trauma-Informed Pathway to Community Security”. The workshop was attended by a group of mental health experts from Kirkuk Health Department, representatives of the Violent Extremism Committee, the Technical Institute, and the Hawija Education Department. The discussions focused on how to enhance the role of youth in society through planning and implementing community self-led initiatives, as well as organizing psychological support sessions aimed at raising youth awareness of the importance of recognizing trauma with the aim of enabling them to withstand and confront calls for violent extremism.<\/div>\n
