Although women account for 49.7% of the world’s population, they are often ignored in active participation in the development of society, as well as their rights are violated and their exclusion from assuming leadership positions and limiting their tasks and capacities to make decisions related to their lives.

World Population Day gives us an opportunity to highlight the need for gender equality to help realize the dreams of 8 billion people on the planet.

On this occasion, NIHR calls for justice for women and girls worldwide, opening the horizons for their active participation in public life, lifting all cases of injustice, exclusion and deprivation of rights stipulated in international conventions and treaties, and the need to achieve gender balance that contributes to the development and prosperity of societies.
