Specialized international reports classified Iraq first in the Arab world and third in the world with a high unemployment rate, which was announced by the Iraqi Ministry of Planning, which stated that the unemployment rate reached 15.55% and rises among women to 25% compared to males, recording an increase over what was recorded in 2018.
The ministry touched on the fact that there are solutions on the horizon by the government to reduce that percentage within the triennial financial budget for containing stimulus for economic projects that would absorb a percentage of the workforce.
The revitalization of the private sector and the obligation of foreign investment companies to employ at least 80% of their Iraqi workforce, as well as the rehabilitation of local productive companies and factories that have stopped working since 2003 to this day, all these steps are considered by NIHR among the radical solutions that the Iraqi government must take, and it must stay away from patchwork solutions to reduce the unemployment rate in Iraq.
