Under the patronage and presence of H.E. President Dr. Abdul Latif Rashid, along with the Advisors and Experts Board at the Presidency of the Republic, a consultative session was held in Baghdad on October 8, 2025, to discuss effective mechanisms to ensure the integrity and transparency of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The session was attended by representatives from the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), the NGO Directorate, and several civil society networks and organizations working in the field of election monitoring, including the National Institute for Human Rights, the Iraqi Human Rights Watch (IHRW), and other participating organizations.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between official institutions and civil society organizations to monitor the electoral process and ensure it proceeds in accordance with democratic standards, thereby enhancing public confidence in the upcoming elections.
